What is a Blended Family?

The usual definition of a blended family is that it comprises individuals who have been a part of other family units that no longer exist due to divorce, death or other means of separation, whether intentional or not.

However, no matter what our previous relationships have been, we are all part of a blended family!

We blend in the spouses and significant others of our children, our pets, neighbors, friends and the “quirky” members of our extended family whose behavior often causes consternation or amusement.

We find ourselves being blended into other family units because of mutual experience and affection. “You’re part of the family” is an expression we’ve all both uttered and heard others say.

Blending is the way families grow strong in love, power, significance and legacy!

Ken and Mary Wallace have been together for over twenty years and have seven adult children between them.  They bring a vibrant, refreshing and energetic approach to the art of blending families into dynamic manifestations of passion, peace, love, empowerment and fulfillment.

Mary and Ken brought together two full-fledged families more than twenty years ago. Over the years, they have experienced both the many benefits and the multiple challenges of blending their respective families into a nurturing whole in which all of their family members have grown in spirit, grace, love and peace.

emerge that better equips people to live joyous, productive and successful lives.
